Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving (only a week late)! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday - I know we did! We spent lots of time with family, did some Black Friday shopping, and enjoyed having some time away from work (at least for me.) Mady seemed to really enjoy Turkey Day this year, especially the food! Some of her favorites were turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and of course pumpkin pie! I think Daddy was pretty excited about that one!
Here are some new pics of Mady from the past couple of weeks!
Mady with her cousin Hailey - they have so much fun together!

Mady dusting off her high chair - here lately she has been using a booster seat like a big girl!

Mady concentrating very hard on the puzzle - she looks just like her Mommy in this picture!

Jeremy posing with our very first turkey - it turned out wonderfully!!

Mommy and Mady being silly together :)

Mady showing off her holiday clothes from Gigi - she looks like a little snow bunny!

Sleepy Mady - she loves to be on her belly.

Silly Mady - I think she looks just like Jeremy in this one!
The next few weeks will be pretty busy at our house, Jeremy is working a lot and it seems like we have lots to do all the time. We are hoping to get Mady in to see Santa sometime very soon, hopefully she'll enjoy it and not shed too many tears!

Halloween

Halloween was a lot more fun this year - Mady actually enjoyed her costume and really liked getting treats from everyone! We spent Halloween walking around with Ava, Aunt Stacey, and Uncle Travis in their neighborhood. Let me just say - those people go all out! We can't wait for next year!
My little Ladybug came and visited me at work!
Ava, Mady, and their Gigi before going out Trick or Treating.
Aren't they adorable?
Along with Trick or Treating, Mady also got her first experience of pumpkin carving with Daddy. They both had a great time - Jeremy loved carving the face and Mady loved eating the insides of the pumpkin!

Here is Jeremy admiring his work!
Mady was very excited!
She liked squishing the insides with her hands!
The final product - our scary pumpkin and Mady's cute baby pumpkin!
Stay away from my pumpkin!
Jeremy and I are really looking forward to celebrating the holidays in our new home - I even have him convinced to hang lights on the outside of the house :)

Pumpkin patch

This past weekend we took Mady to the pumpkin patch up in Weston. The Red Barn Farm is known for its pumpkins, baby animals, and amazing sweet potato butter. We had a great time, the weather was gorgeous, and we got there right before the crowds hit. We splurged and took the tractor hayride out to the pumpkin patch. It was a very cool sight, coming up over the hill and seeing the bright orange pumpkins everywhere!

Mady was very interested in the baby pumpkins, they were just her size!!

One wasn't enough for her!
She needed one for each hand!

In the end we got one big one for carving and
one small one for Mady to play with.

I know I promised this post would be up sooner this week, but poor Mady has been sick. She came down with a high fever on Tuesday and then Wednesday started vomiting. We decided to get her checked out by the doctor just to rule out the flu or H1N1. It turns out she had neither, but instead she got the infamous Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. Luckily it was just a mild case and after spending the last few days at home you wouldn't even know she was sick!

The good news is that she's doing so much better, the bad news is that we have to miss the RB Halloween party this weekend. Maybe next year!

Lots of pictures

I haven't been a good blogger lately :( Between moving, unpacking, and just being plain busy I really haven't had much time to update. Here are some pictures to make up for my slacking!

We've been busy.......

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. We have been very busy.....looking for a house!! We finally found one that we both love and are set to close on 9/21! Both Jeremy and I are super excited to be in our first home and of course for Mady to have a yard to play in!

Miss Mady is doing so many new things, walking being the biggest milestone. She is still somewhat unsure of herself and prefers holding onto your hand, but everyday she gets better and more confident and I'm sure its only a matter of time before we are chasing after her.

She is also learning new words everyday - the latest this week being "no" and "stop". I wonder where she learned that from?! Here is our little firecracker from the 4th of July. Her bow lasted about 2 minutes before she was taking it out.
Mady also enjoys playing with Mommy's purses. She had a Coach diaper bag, but she has now moved up to Mommy's hobo bag. She loves to wear the bags around her neck and crawl around the house. Her favorite bag right now is the LV wristlet that Ivy got me for my birthday. Its just her size!!
A couple of weeks ago we spent some time hanging out at Pappy's pool. The water was a bit cold for Mady, but she enjoyed walking around the deck and getting into trouble.

Right now we are without Internet at the house, we got rid of Time Warner Cable and will be getting U-verse set up when we move in!! It makes it harder to update the blog, but I promise to try and get a few more pictures up this week!

Take me out to the ball game....

This past weekend Mady had her first trip to the ball park. Our hometown boys were playing the St. Louis Cardinals which just so happen to be Daddy's favorite team. We decided to make it a family event and had a great time!!

At first Mady thought the Boys in Blue were very fascinating.

But then nap time caught up with her.
She had lots of fun riding the carousel with her Gigi.

A family divided!
Lots more pictures to come!

Cupcake Party

We celebrated Madeylnn's first birthday this past weekend - it was a lot of fun and we were very happy to be surrounded by all of our friends and family. Mady's party had a cupcake theme and thanks to a friend on the RB board it turned out perfect!

I LOVED the invite!!

The birthday girl posing with Mommy.
The Happy Birthday banner I made :)
A close up of the cupcake display.
The cupcake toppers were designed by my friend as well.
Originally I was going to try and make the giant cupcake -
luckily Consentino's downtown did a better job than I could!!
We used the monthly monkey pictures as centerpiece decor.
They turned out adorable and I have lots of
requests for copies of the pictures!
"Aunt" Ivy decorated her high chair!
Mady really enjoyed opening her presents.
This book was lots of fun and makes very loud noises :)
After awhile though she started to get a little bored so we moved on to more important things.....
Birthday cake!
Mady wasn't too interested in diving into her cake so her Daddy decorated her face with icing.
All in all it was a great day - we had a lot of fun - ate way too much food - and Mady was once again spoiled by her friends and family. One of the funniest moments of the day was when my niece Ava decided to go "shopping" in Mady's gift pile. She wasn't too happy when she found out all of those toys were for someone else.

To all of you who came and celebrated with us and to everyone who sent birthday wishes from afar - we want to thank you for making our little girl's day so special!!

Turning One!

Holy cow I can't believe my little girl is a year old!! For Mady's actual birthday we took her to Deanna Rose Farmstead for the day and she loved it!! That place is very cool and I can't wait to go back again this summer!

1 Year Picture with her Monkey

As a special treat we took Mady to Chick-fil-A for lunch.
She loved the chicken nuggets and waffle fries!
Mady's "Aunt" Ivy came all the way from Florida for her birthday.
We decided to get in on the fun of being flowers!
Mady thought being a flower was pretty cool too.She spent most of the day looking at all the animals.
These baby goats were our favorites. Right after I took this picture she leaned forward to touch the goat's nose.

Overall it was a great day and it meant a lot to me and Jeremy that we got to spend time together as a family. Hopefully this will be a tradition in the making! Stay tuned for the famous cupcake birthday party post!!
